TAKE NOTE!
On the standard Dome tour, from our base near Parys to Venterskroon and back, there are no supermarkets, garages or other commercial facilities along the way. There are two quaint country hotels where we often stop for refreshments or lunches.
There is usually no cellphone reception in the Dome Bergland, except at isolated spots (which guides know).
Fill your vehicle, as a Dome circuit drive can be 120km or more. Road conditions include potholed tar and corrugated granite. Good clearance is advised, or hire our 4×4 with guide.
There is no entrance fee to the Dome as such, as all roads are public. To go offroad to special viewsites usually requires 4×4 and a guide must be with you on private properties.
Come prepared for all kinds of weather from hot, windy, cold, wet and anything in between. Some walks take us to exposed heights.
